A heart-to-heart

Toward the end of spring quarter, I got more involved socially with my dorm, beyond just playing video games and studying in groups. I joined a party, but left because it didn’t seem that interesting initially. However, I felt that I should have tried to be more outgoing, and came back in time for the afterparty. We talked and had fun learning embarrassing secrets about each other, but as the night wore on, the mood became more somber and the talks more emotional. I learned a lot about myself and my friends that day, and thanks to that I feel much closer to everyone and am more comfortable talking about myself now.
